My only recommendation for the reader is to read a prior Nick Gunn book(s) so that you have a little better understanding of the recurring characters. Lucky for me, I had done so. That said, if you love a mystery with a surprise ending, you’ll be happy with Smoking Gunn. I completely did not suspect the individual(s) who ended up being the “Bad Guy(s)” and it was a delightful surprise to me. This one is set mostly in England, which was fun, since the Brits have a different way of working on mysteries. All that said, I can highly recommend this book! It’s a fun, quick read with entertaining characters.

I have read all four Nick Gunn books and have enjoyed them all. Each book got my attention from the start and I found it hard to put the books down. All of the books have great action and lots of twists and turns. You have to read to the end to know who did it. I can’t wait for the next book.

Stone’s mysteries I’m embedded into his world from word one. If you love getting lost in a book that makes you question everything and everyone this is the book for you.
